ABOUT
OUR APPROACH
WORKSHOPS AND TAILORED SESSIONS
Alongside our flagship program, we offer shorter workshops and tailored sessions that help teams and communities:
Begin conversations about identity, power, & Belonging
Build shared language for how they talk with each other
Learn tools for listening, feedback, & navigating disagreement
Each offering is designed to meet people where they are and support meaningful progress.
OUR MISSION IS CLEAR:
to teach people why we should value each other’s lives.
Builds listening, communication, and empathy skills
Helps people engage across difference with clarity and respect
Guides human-centered exploration of how systems shape daily experience
The aim is not only awareness.
The aim is to change how people talk, listen, and act in real situations.
HOW WE WORK
Our approach is grounded in four core principles:

FACILITATOR-LED
Trained facilitators hold the space with structure, clarity, and care, guiding participants through conversations that are often complex and emotionally charged.

EXPERIENTIAL
Participants engage directly in activities, reflections, and guided conversations that make abstract ideas real and personal.

CO-CREATED
The learning experience is shaped by the people in the room. Their questions, stories, and perspectives inform the direction of the work.

HUMAN-CENTERED
We focus on how systems show up in everyday relationships, workplaces, classrooms, and communities. It is about lived experience, not detached theory.
SPEAK OUTS
Speak Outs are a core practice in our flagship program, The Culture of Respect. They are structured sessions where participants share personal stories connected to identity, power, and belonging, while others listen without interrupting or debating.
In a Speak Out, people talk from their own experience. People from Included Groups hear, in real terms, how these systems land in the lives of people from Excluded Groups, and people from Excluded Groups have space to speak without having to convince, defend, or educate on demand. Everyone is asked to listen closely, reflect, and sit with what they hear before responding.
The format is simple, direct, and often transformative. Speak Outs build trust, courage, and a shared foundation that supports deeper, more honest conversations throughout the program and beyond.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS TAKE WITH THEM
Our approach is grounded in four core principles:
A clearer understanding of how systems shape daily life
More confidence to talk about identity, power, and belonging
Practical skills for listening with empathy and responding with accountability
A stronger sense of why valuing each other’s lives matters, and how to put that belief into practice
The real change continues afterward, in the everyday conversations people bring into their workplaces, campuses, homes, and communities.
WHY TALKING MATTERS
Across the United States, people are struggling to talk about identity, power, and belonging. Conversations shut down quickly, become tense, or never start. Many individuals are unsure what to say or are afraid of saying the wrong thing, so silence becomes the default.
Culture of Respect offers another way.
We help people learn how to stay in the conversation when it matters most.
